Nancy Muller, MBA
Ms. Nancy Muller is the Executive Director of the National Association For Continence (NAFC), whose headquarters is located in Charleston, South Carolina. Ms. Muller has served in this capacity since 2000 and has been on the Board of Directors since 1996. Prior to assuming this responsibility, she served as chief operating officer for the state’s largest group of private medical practices focused on nutritional counseling and intervention. Prior to that stint, she worked for six years as a private consultant in the health care industry and has undertaken projects for such clients as the Mayo Clinic, Baylor College of Medicine, Oregon Health Sciences University, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. With 20 years of management experience prior to consulting, including international sales management and medical product management and marketing, Ms. Muller has been employed by companies in the realm of new product launches, strategic planning, and business development. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and received her MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Graduate Business Administration. She has lived abroad in both The Netherlands and France and traveled extensively.
Linda Brubaker, MD
Dr. Linda Brubaker is an expert in the field of female bladder control and pelvic organ prolapse. She completed her OBGYN residency at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, and received her M.D. in 1984. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecological Surgeons. Dr. Brubaker has written more than 90 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters focused on female pelvic medicine and urology. Her articles have been published in journals such as the Journal of Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the International Urogynecology Journal. She also is a reviewer for many journals like the American Journal of Urology and the Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery. Currently Dr. Brubaker has a clinical office at Loyola University Medical center that specializes in female pelvic medicine, reconstructive surgery and urology. She is also an Assistant Dean at Loyola University Medical Center, and a professor and director of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urology at Loyola University Medical Center.
Howard Bennett, MD, FAAP
Dr. Howard Bennett received his M.D. degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in 1977. He did his pediatric residency at the Children’s National Medical Center from 1977 to 1980. He is board certified in pediatrics and spent the first ten years of his career teaching and practicing primary care pediatrics at the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Bennett is the author of “Waking Up Dry: A Guide to Help Children Overcome Bedwetting,” which was published by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2005. His approach to bedwetting empowers children to take an active role in solving their problem. The book offers an interactive program that he developed during his 25 years in practice. He is well published in medical journals and is a frequent contributor to Contemporary Pediatricians. Dr. Bennett has been in private practice for more than a decade, but continued his academic affiliations. He is currently a clinical professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine.
Peter Shepard
Mr. Peter Shepard received his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific following a four-year term in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman specializing as a surgical scrub technician. He is a member of the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and the International Continence Society. During his career he also held positions on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, on the Industry Council for the American Urological Association, and as Industry Council Chairperson for NAFC. Currently Mr. Shepard is NAFC’s Chairman of the Board of Directors. He held a number of Sales & Marketing and Business Development positions in the Urology and Urogynecology division of Mentor retiring as Senior Vice-President Sales & Marketing and Business Development. The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses awarded him the President’s Award in 1995 and elected him to their Circle of Leaders. Mr. Shepard retired in August 2004 after a 29-year career with Mentor Corporation. Mr. Shepard currently volunteers his time at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he is President-Elect of the Auxiliary and Chairman of the Auxiliary ICU Committee.
Catherine DuBeau, MD
Dr. Catherine DuBeau is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Section of Geriatrics at the University of Chicago. Dr. DuBeau completed her fellowship in the Division of Aging at Harvard Medical School, residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA, and received her M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She has been actively engaged in teaching, management, and research regarding urinary incontinence in older persons for nearly 15 years. Her research focuses on quality of life impact and patient-centered outcomes. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on urinary incontinence and benign prostate disease in such publications as the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Journal of Urology, American Geriatric Society (AGS) Geriatric Review Syllabus, Cassell et al’s Geriatric Medicine, the on-line textbook UpToDate, and Chapple et al’s upcoming Multidisciplinary Management of Female Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. Dr. DuBeau co-chaired the Frail Elderly Committee for the 2004 3rd International Consultation on Incontinence (ICI), and is Chair-elect for the 4th ICI. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. She is a dedicated teacher and lectures nationally and internationally on incontinence. Currently she conducts the Geriatric Continence Clinic at the University of Chicago Outpatient Senior Center, and also has geriatric primary care and long term care practices.
Judd Moul, MD, FACS
Dr. Judd Moul is a world-renown authority on prostate cancer. Dr. Moul completed his Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Duke University, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pennsylvania State University, and earned is M.D. from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Moul serves on the editorial boards of Urology, Journal of Urology and World Journal of Urology, and is Editor of Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases. He has published over 300 medical and scientific manuscripts and book chapters and has lectured at national and international meetings. He has been a visiting professor and invited guest lecturer at universities and national symposia, and has appeared on ABC, CNN, PBS, and other media as a prostate cancer authority. Dr. Moul has been a Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland and an attending Urologic Oncologist at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, DC. In addition, he was Director of the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR); a Congressionally mandated research program of the Department of Defense based at USUHS and WRAMC. In 2004, he completed a 26-year U.S. Army career, retiring as a full Colonel in the Medical Corps. Dr. Moul now is Professor and Chief of the Division of Urologic Surgery and Director of the Duke Prostate Center at Duke University Medical Center.
